Brittany Sanford

A little about me…

My name is Brittany Vest Sanford, I was born in Decatur, AL and grew up in the Priceville area. I graduated from A. P. Brewer High School in 2002 and later from Athens State University in 2009.

I have always been interested in Art and, from what I hear, I begged my parents for lessons at a young age. Luckily for me, they gave in! I did not pursue a career in art because I had always been told “There’s no money in art!” so I went on to Athens State University to get a degree in Psychology with a minor in Art. Shortly after getting my degree (3 months later) I became a mother. Through this time of being a mother and trying to juggle work, family and my passion for Art I have decided what was/is most important in my life…happiness. I was constantly being reminded of when Sister Mary Clarence (yes, from the movie “Sister Act”) said, “If you wake up in the morning, and you can’t think anything but singing {painting}, then you should be a singer {painter}, girl.” I wasn’t happy working in an office, paying someone else to raise my son, and barely getting to have “downtime” to create.  I am blessed enough to have a husband who saw how badly my lifestyle was affecting me and was willing to do anything to change that. We then made the decision that I would stay home and finally do what I love, raise our son and pursue my art. I’m not looking to be famous, sure it’d be nice, but I want to be able to “bring something to the table” for my family. I am looking forward to sharing my passion with others and just enjoying the life that I have been given.
