Huntsville High School Students “Reflections”

Huntsville Art League is proud to exhibit art from Huntsville High School’s students. The art includes submissions for The National PTA® Reflections ProgramSM. This program provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts. This national program also has chapters in American Schools overseas. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art.

72 students are recognized nationally with Awards of Excellence and 116 students are given Awards of Merit across four grade divisions — primary, intermediate, middle/junior, and senior — in six art categories — dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts.

As part of being recognized as the place “Where ART Starts!,” Huntsville Art League Galleries and Visual Arts Center will present entries in Visual Arts, Literature, and Musical Composition.

The Visual Arts entries that will be exhibited include: Ÿ

“Waterborne,” a watercolor by Kristina McGroary, 12th grade, that has gone to the National Competition. We are anxiously awaiting its return from Washington DC to include in this show. Ÿ

“Unity,” a charcoal drawing by Sarah Barr, 12th grade Ÿ

“Dogversity” by Tiffany Hnetynka, 9th grade

In Literature, “The Great Autumn Tree” by Jacqueline Heard, 12th grade. This piece made it to City Competition.

In Musical Composition, you can hear “Unstoppable” by Amy Ellison, 12th Grade, 2011. She was the only state winner last year. Amy will sing the piece as well as play her composition for our guests during the reception.

A RECEPTION will be held July 10th, 5-8 PM at the Main Gallery on L&N Drive in Huntsville. Please join us in celebration of their talents and meet this new generation of artists. Call 256-534-3860 for more information.
