Huntsville Art League’s July Limelight Exhibit in the 2nd floor connector hall features artists Patricia Eldridge and Sherry Montez. For the entire month of July you can see their work which is inspired by their love of the sea. There will be a reception on July 11th from 6-8 pm.The art will be on display through the July 31st Gallery Tour.

Sherry Montez is a self taught glass artist. Over the past 15 years she has been developing her unique style
which involves stained glass and copper in a 3-D sculpture like appearance. Her work has a very open airy look to it while still retaining solid structure. She is also currently enjoying exploring the fabric media of machine-applique and quilting. There also she is working to developed her own unique style. Inspiration from her love of all things natural gives her work the light and free- form appearance
that it has.

“Seaside Vista”  is a natural for Patricia Eldridge who grew up and lived most of her life on the Florida Gulf Coast.

This exhibit will feature a variety of things with a beach theme – some whimsical, some abstract and close up views of nature. I also have some fiber pieces in ocean colors with findings from one of my favorite spots on Destin beach. I have spent many years sitting on a beach towel doing ‘research’ for this particular limelight exhibit. My work here isn’t done, so I will need to go back to the beach again soon!

Our reception is on July 11th,  6-8 PM.
