I was raised in Madison, AL, since I was less than a year old, so I consider myself to be a native to the area. For college, I migrated further south to St. Augustine Florida. After graduating in April 2006 from Flagler College with a BA in Art Education, I moved back to Sweet Home Alabama.
Two and a half years later, I married my high school sweetheart (Laura McCall – now Mrs. Newquist). And now we are three! On October 10, 2010, we brought little Scott Collier Newquist into the world.
In May 2011, I completed a Masters degree through Arkansas State University – Jonesboro’s online program for educators, and now have an M.Ed in the area of Educational Theory and Practice. My next professional goal is to strive for National Board Certification.
Because of my strengths in math, science, and logic, my personal artistic style leans heavily on graphic design. However, I enjoy every style of art and encourage students to find their own. I have created freelance graphics for a few local companies, as well as for friends and relatives. I have also designed a few web-based graphic interfaces and interactive online educational tools.
