Notes from the President

Hello!  There has been a little hiatus on the Newsletter, but we have found a new developer, our own Carrie Alderfer.  As you can see, she has done a terrific job.

What has been happening?

Well, we had one Workshop recently and another on the way (see inside).

Our Theme wall right now is adorned with the beauty of fall!  Come and see it.

The big news right now is HAL’s Sixtieth Anniversary will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28, 5:30 – 7:00.  It’s hard to get statistics, but the average lifespan of a Fortune 500 company is 40 years, and only 44% of small businesses survive for four years or more.  So we must be doing something right!

All Members are invited to the Sixtieth celebration, and we will have snacks and drinks, of course.  We will try to bring in/unbox mementos of HAL from days gone by.  We have plenty of history!

Our third Thursday speaker in October will be Karen Reed (more info inside), and the third Thursday meeting in November will be the annual Christmas party.

Looking further ahead; the annual Collector’s Draw is already scheduled for February 11, at the VBC!

Have a great fall, y’all!

– Walt
