Ellen Massey is a Florida native who was a Physical Therapist before retiring. Throughout her professional and personal life, she continued studying art – – in college at the University of Florida and with mentors in Georgia and Texas (UTSA and the San Antonio Art Institute). Since returning to Huntsville in 1987, she has had classes in watercolor with Cynthia Seawomyn and in pastel with Laurie McKelvie. Her favorite subjects have always been people and trees. Mediums she has created works in are oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, sculpture and collage. Currently, she is primarily working in pastels and acrylics.
