Doreena began drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil. Charcoal became her medium of choice in her teen years and she continued to experiment with other mediums.
After graduating from college Doreena began a thirty-year career in education and her artistic endeavors took a backseat to family life and her career.
Doreena’s interest in art was rekindled when she began to teach art to students after school. She began to take art classes and workshops and is now proud to present her work at the HAL gallery.
Artist Statement
I work in a variety of media, but my favorite medium is oil painting. I thrill at attempts to represent on canvas the beauty I see around me.
